Indian Spring Festival

Last weekend I attended Spring Festival, a Bollywood spring festival evening hosted by Peterborough's Indian community. I was there as a guest, camera in hand, but no brief, no assignment. Just watching.

The room had colour, sound, and movement from the moment I walked in. Dancers. Wardrobe that demanded attention. Jewellery worn with intention. Conversations between people who clearly knew how to share a table. I photographed what I saw, nothing staged, nothing directed.

This is a community with stories worth keeping. I'm hoping last weekend was the first of many evenings like it.
